Question
Explain the life cycle of gymnosperms in detail.
Answer

The life cycle of gymnosperms begins with the production of male and female gametophytes, which are haploid structures that produce sperm and eggs, respectively. The sperm and eggs are then released into the environment, where they can be fertilized by the sperm of another gametophyte. The fertilized egg then develops into an embryo, which is then encased in a protective seed coat. The seed is then dispersed and, if conditions are favorable, germinates and grows into a mature plant. The mature plant then produces male and female reproductive structures, which produce gametophytes and the cycle begins again.
